Luka Modrić showed his class once again: the brilliant midfielder hit a shot with the outside of his right foot, which was impossible for the goalkeeper to save to settle the game and qualify Croatia for the knockout stage at the expense of Scotland. The goal made him the oldest Croatian player to score at a European Championship. To illustrate his long, glorious career, he also remains the youngest Croatian ever to score at the tournament, thanks to his goal against Austria in 2008.
