Germany qualified for the Round of 16 after a real battle with Hungary. The Germans twice came back from being a goal down to an inspired Hungarian team. Leon Goretzka scored the final goal in the 84th minute from inside the penalty area. This was the Bayern Munich midfielder’s first European Championship goal and his thirteenth in 33 games for Germany.
